From Ice off and one month after there is explosive chironomid fishing in shallow waters for large aggressive Rainbows exceeding three pounds on a daily basis and up to 12 pounds. This time of year offers the diehard angler the chance to release in excess of 30 fish a day for those who brave the newly ice free waters.
