DRIVING FROM VANCOUVER TO BRIDGE RIVER FISHING ADVENTURES

 

Route A: Hurley River Summer Gravel Road over Gold Bridge

In Vancouver take Hwy. 1 to Horseshoe Bay then Hwy. 99 to Whistler. 35

kms after Whistler the road forms a “T” you turn left into the village

of Pemberton (gas up). After crossing the railroad tracks the road forms

a “T” again. You will come to a stop sign where you will turn right onto

Birch Avenue.  Follow this road which will turn into Pemberton Meadow

Road. After 23 kms (14.4 miles) you will see signs for “Coast Mountain

Outdoor School” and Gold Bridge, turn right at the pay phone. After 9

km, you will cross over a bridge and will see a sign “Hurley River &

Gold Bridge”, take this road uphill. This logging road starts out to be

steep but flattens out on top. It then goes downhill into the Bridge

River Valley. You will see a sign to the right which says Bralorne, but

follow the road towards Gold Bridge. After 60kms (35 miles) on this

gravel road you enter a road which is seal coated. Turn right. You are

now on Hwy. 40. After 200 yards (1/4 kms) you see Gold Bridge on the

right. From Vancouver to Gold Bridge is 255kms (160 miles) Driving time  4.5hrs.

WARNING: The Hurley River Road is not a highway but a Forest Service Road. Please check with either the Highways department (ph.#1-900-451-4997) or the Resort to make sure the road is open.

 


 

Route B: Carpenter Lake Road (Road #40)

Drive from Pemberton to Lillooet over the Duffy Lake Rd (Hwy. 99). In

Lillooet get on to the Carpenter Lake Rd. (Hwy. 40) towards Gold Bridge.

When you get gas in Lillooet ask them to direct you). Follow Carpenter

Lake Road for 100 km until you see the sign turning over the bridge to Gold Bridge. From Vancouver 342 kms. Driving time 5 hrs.

WARNING: The Carpenter Lake Rd. has a lot of corners and rocks on the road. Drive with caution & care.

 


 

Route C:

From Vancouver, follow the Trans Canada Hwy. (#1) through Chilliwack and

continue through to Hope and then onto Lytton. In Lytton take Hwy 12B to

Lillooet. From Lillooet take the Carpenter Lake Road to Gold Bridge for

100km until you see the sign turning over the bridge to Gold Bridge. From Vancouver 421 kms. Driving

time 5.5 hrs.

 


 

RouteD:

From Seattle, take I-5 north to Bellingham and exit on Meridian Rd.

Follow signs to the Sumas border crossing. In Abbottsford, get on the

Trans Canada Hwy. (#1) and continue through Chilliwack to Hope and on to

Lytton. In Lytton take Hwy 12B to Lillooet. From Lillooet, take the

Carpenter Lake Rd (Hwy. 40) for 65 miles towards Gold Bridge until you

see the sign turning over the bridge to Gold Bridge.
